Each summer, Great Lakes sailors race to Mackinac Island from the Bayview Yacht Club in Port Huron and the Chicago Yacht Club.  Foggy Finish is a four-color linoleum block print that conveys the excitement of these sailors as they complete their journey and pass the finish line at Round Island Light. This print was created in the traditional Japanese multi-block print style, with four different blocks (aligning with the four different colors) individually carved and printed.

Foggy Finish is a great piece for sailors throughout the Great Lakes, those with the love of water and boats, as a housewarming gift and more!

In relief printmaking, an artist applies ink to a hand-carved block and then burnishes the inked relief onto a piece of paper. Multiple originals are possible by re-inking the carved surface and burnishing the relief onto a new piece of paper. The total number of identical prints is the edition number.

Printed by hand with soy-based ink on quality 280 lb. paper. The acid-free, archival paper ensures the original block print will last a lifetime for generations to enjoy. Each print is presented in an archival, 100% alpha cellulose mat with a backing board. Packaged in an archival clear, recyclable bag.

Please note: Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of the medium, exact colors and design registrations may vary slightly from the image shown.

Frame choices include a natural, walnut or black stained 3/4 inch wood moulding from the Jane Seymour (of “Somewhere in Time” fame) Moulding Collection by FOTIOU, which contributes to a reforestation initiative with every purchase. The pine wood frames are responsibly sourced and manufactured with Forest Stewardship Council Certification.

Professionally framed pieces come ready to hang. The artwork is protected with 100% conservation material, including archival mats and backing boards, conservation clear glass that filters 99.7% harmful UV light and a dust cover. Hanging hardware is included.
