Collection: Jennifer Wohletz - Mackinac Island & Great Lakes

As an editor and avid photographer, Jennifer approaches every subject as a story waiting to be written and told in pictures.  Her work is inspired by the Great Lakes and landscapes of Mackinac Island, Mich., where she lives in the summer.  Many images reveal surprising, fresh perspectives when human-made and natural elements merge in the island’s gardens, forests and surrounding waters.

At 14, Jennifer worked all summer to purchase her first camera. Since then, she has studied and experimented with photography, earning her awards in juried art exhibitions throughout Michigan, including third place in the 2020 and 2018 Mackinac Island Contemporary Art Exhibit, Richard & Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum.

Jennifer’s photographs are featured in several Mackinac Island inspired books, including The Gardens of Mackinac Island and  Four Seasons of Mackinac, and have graced the cover and pages of Michigan BLUE magazine.  She is releasing a new coloring book titled Mindful Mackinac in May 2024.  Her books have been honored with several awards, including a 2023 Silver Award Benjamin Franklin Award by the Independent Book Publisher’s Association for Four Seasons in the Coffee Table Category.
