Description:

Water Lilies 1916–19 was painted by the French artist Claude Monet in 1916. This is one out of 250 Water Lily paintings done by Monet from 1897 to 1926. Monet painted many horticulture scenes throughout his time at Giverny where he worked with gardeners and landscapers to perfectly curate the grounds to his wishes, complete with his iconic lily pond.

The Artist Series artfully transforms paint strokes into paper strips using the ancient art of quilling. Each card takes several hours to make and reimagines a famous work of art into a magnificent greeting card that can either be sent and shared with loved ones or kept and framed as the work of art it is.

About the Maker:

Don't just send a card, send art!  Quilling is the art of rolling, coiling and shaping small strips of paper to create a cohesive three-dimensional design and has been practiced for centuries.  Historians have been able to date the art form back to Ancient Egyptian times where crafters would use a bird's feather (quill) as the tool to coil the paper upon.
