What's the difference between a fine art giclee/print & original block print?

A giclee/fine art print is a reproduction of an original piece of art, after it has been scanned or photographed and then digitally printed. Original block prints, on the other hand, are the original pieces of art. In relief printmaking, an artist applies ink to a hand-carved block and then burnishes the inked relief onto a piece of paper. Multiple originals are possible by re-inking the carved surface and burnishing the relief onto a new piece of paper. The total number of identical prints is the edition number.
