Description:
So many wartime photos are riddled with anguish and sadness and downright drear scenes of ugly war-torn landscapes and lost lives. Artist Leah Kucharek tries to see past those things at the survivors, the heroes, the humble souls that were forever changed. WhenAllied surface ships and shore-based aircraft accounted for the great majority (246 and 245 respectively) of sunken German U-Boats.
About the Artist:
Leah is a graphic designer and award-winning oil painter. She is also a dedicated volunteer trustee for the Warbirds of Glory Museum in New Hudson, Mich., where she donates her time and artistic talent to help rebuild a piece of history (B-25 bomber) and educate youth on airplane mechanics. She’s helping create a memoir of our country’s past to inform and inspire future generations.
The Michigan artist has a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Art and Graphic Design from Central Michigan University.
