Petoskey Stone Bracelets

Gemstone of the Earth collection of bracelets by Janice A. Copperstone of Milford, Mich., featuring a verdigris, gold plated or bronze pendant with Petoskey Stone beads.  Handmade in Michigan.

The Petoskey Stone is unique to northern Michigan where it is found along the shores of Lake Michigan.  It is fossilized pre-historic coral that's distinguishable by its unique pattern of tightly packed, six-sided corallites, which are the skeletons of the once-living coral polyps. 

About the artist:

Elements of nature are the inspiration for Janice Copperstone's art.  The Michigan artist studied in England and is known for her unique mixed media artwork and jewelry featuring butterflies, hummingbirds, dragonflies and other flora and fauna.  She enjoys collecting stones, shells and beach glass along the shore of the Great Lakes and Gulf Coast of Florida where she lived for several years.
