Oil on canvas by Heiner Hertling.  28 x 22 in.

On the Second Day is part of the artist's new collection of water landscapes depicting the rhythm of the waves and foam patterns, as well as the different moods reflected in the color of the water.  The fresh contemporary look appeals to collectors of all ages.  Heiner says, "there's something about open water that's calming." He enjoys painting Great Lakes and ocean scenes because there are so many variations of blues.

About the Artist:

Heiner Hertling of Howell, Michigan, embraces the visual arts as an oil painter and sculptor. From intricate detailed realism to bold colorful impressionistic paintings nothing in the arts is off limits to the highly-acclaimed artist and host of “Brush with Nature.” His work reflects his love for open spaces, wildlife and nature. Painting plein air in sub-zero temperatures with hearty friends is to him as satisfying as painting on a beach in Hawaii. Heiner decided to paint and sculpt for pleasure vs. business after working as a graphic artist in the advertising arena for 20 years.
