About the Artist:

Julia McGrath was born and raised in beautiful Michigan. At a young age and throughout her life, she spent a great deal of time in Northern Michigan where she finds great inspiration and plenty of subject matter to paint. She graduated from Wayne State University with a B.F.A., her major in Painting and her minor in Art History. Her first medium in painting was oil, but as a young Mom to her oldest daughter and another on the way, she made a change to Watercolor which had no solvents to worry about.

Her work is published in the “Artistic Touch” books by Creative Press and is also published in The Best of Watercolor, Splash 18 “Value”.  For several years she worked in the Art Fair Circuit and was juried into the top 20 National Shows including the Naples National, the Boca Raton Museum Show, the Bonita Springs National (among several others) in Florida, St. James Court Art in Louisville, KY and numerous shows in Michigan. She initiated, organized and started the Village Fine Arts Association in Milford, Michigan as president and later, chairman of the board.
